The Do's and the Don’ts

The Do’s

The overwhelming consensus of opinion is that hand washing is by far the kindest option helping to preserve the material and shape of both your lingerie and swimwear

When washing make sure that:-

  • All hooks are fastened – this will help minimise snagging

  • Wash colours separately

Using a mild detergent and cool water gently wash your lingerie or swimwear paying extra attention to areas requiring that little more attention ie. Deodorant marks, lotion staining and panty gussets - then rinse in cool water.

Hand Wash Only

Line dry (avoiding direct sunlight as this can cause fading of colours), drip dry or dry flat.

Tip: - Wrap and blot with a towel to remove excess water then lie flat to dry

The Don’ts

Direct heat and certain chemicals can prove too harsh for your delicates breaking down, in particular, the elasticity/Lycra content of your lingerie or swimwear therefore we don’t recommend any of the following:-

Don’t wring out – Do not wring
Don’t tumble dry – Do Not Tumble Dry
Don’t dry clean - Do Not Dry Clean
Don’t use bleach – Do Not Bleach
Don’t iron – Do Not Iron

Swimwear

The Chlorine and chemicals found in Jacuzzi, swimming pools, hot tubs etc. is very damaging to the Lycra content of your swimwear and should be avoided (wearing an older suit in such circumstances) ensure your swimwear is rinsed with cool water as soon as possible after using the facility.

Hand wash with a mild detergent – no fabric conditioner

Always rinse in cool water after use

Do not wring, tumble dry or iron

Watch the suntan lotions and oils these can be harmful to the elasticity of the swimwear.

Watch out for surfaces that could snag your swimwear (sit on your towel).
